Name: Anthony Neo
Lives: Singapore, SG
Dream Bike: Canyon AERoad and Cervelo S5

Favorite local ride:
A 22km route on the peaceful flat Lim Chu Kang Road and decent climb on Old Choa Chu Kang Road with a great meal at FarMart. This is the route i ride when i feel like going for a short and quick ride.

My current cycling goal is..
To be stronger and be able to clear more overseas rides. Had always thinking to join Tour de Bintan.

When I am on the bike...
When i'm on my bike, i'll always wish to have a better ride than before. Will always think of the food i'm going to eat after my ride, maybe that is the reason i get hungry fast when riding.

How did your love for bikes come about? My love for bike come about when one of my friend wanted to buy a bike. He asked if i wanted to buy 1 too as we can cycle around Singapore for leisure. It was when i thought it was a great idea and we proceed to find our first bike. My first bike was a hybrid Trex 7.3 FX. It was after awhile i changed to Canyon ALX.

Share a cycling memory:
Last year Oct 2015, Desaru day trip. A ride that i learnt my lesson and will always remember. It was a Sunday morning when everyone plan to meet 7.30am at Changi Ferry Terminal. the actual plan for myself is to meet some friend at Yishun Dam and cycle to the terminal together as a great warm up for me before going Desaru but due to some of them that cant make it, i ended up meeting Michael at Ang Mo Kio instead (around 20km to Terminal). On our way to the terminal we caught in a heavy rain but due to we might be late for the ferry we continue cycle under the heavy rain hoping to reach there on time. We did reach there on time but ended up i don't have the extra time for my breakfast. It was when disasters strike while cycling halfway through toward desaru beach. I got dropped back and have not much strength to continue. Leg cramped and hunger strike but thanks to James and Andre encouragement i manage to reach Desaru Beach. It was at Desaru beach i'm able to eat a proper meal. Will like to thanks Paddy for waiting for us when going back to the Ferry Terminal. Overall it was a great experience and a great lesson learnt to eat before cycling.

I love to ride becauseā€¦ It keeps me healthy and get to know more people. I also have the freedom to cycle when and where i want to go.

Thanks Anthony for sharing your cycling experience with us! We hope that you enjoy this new series. Know of any cyclist whom you wish to see featured? Let us know!
